Dreamtime Page
What are the two children thinking of? They are dreaming. Yes, it's time for another Kemet Kids dream sequence! Please note that in ancient Egypt, it was perfectly appropriate for a man to wear a special type of skirt known as a kilt or a loincloth. Kilts were pleated and worn by the wealthy; loincloths hung loosely and were worn by everyone. Women would wear very thin dresses because of the heat. Both men and women wore wigs made of human hair or wool. Women would put a perfumed wax ornament on top of their wig. As the day got hotter, the wax would melt and release the perfume. Both men and women with enough money wore gold, beaded, and cloisonne (cloy-zun-ay) jewelry. Cloisonne is jewelry where a metal background has walls of the same metal attached to it. Inside the walls lie glass or precious jewels.
