Comic Page

The Nazis were and are very evil people, but not all Germans are Nazis.

This week we have two comic pages that deal with a heavy subject. It's a good idea to ask your parents and history teacher about World War 2. Many people did very nasty things to each other, atrocities that we're warning against even now. World War 1 wasn't a very nice time either, but one big difference is that in World War 1, Germany was not controlled by the Nazi party. In the time of WW1, the Jewish people could live just like anyone else, including joining the military. In WW2, the Nazi government treated the Jewish people like animals, and denied them basic human rights. Mary-Helen is Jewish, and her great grandfather lived in and fought for Germany in World War 1. She has a flag from that time period on her wall. Mary-Helen is not very keen on what happened to her family in World War 2.
